Open Call - The Tonebook, Volume II

Inpatient Press in collaboration with Lea Bertucci is pleased to announce an open call for scores for the second volume of The Tonebook. This publication is a survey of creative approaches to musical notation by some of today’s most innovative living sound artists and composers in the form of a limited edition artist’s book. We hope to cast a wide net and showcase diverse approaches to creatively notating sound. From staff notation to completely abstract textural/graphic/architectural/algorithmic depictions, we are interested in the idiosyncratic visual languages that sound artists develop to describe their music. Artists included in the first volume include: Zeena Parkins, Elliot Sharp, Eli Keszler, Nate Wooley and Phill Niblock among many others.

Excerpts from Volume 1 can be found here and here
